Le specie più rappresentative sono il castagno, qui normalmente nelle razze da farina più che quelle vocate al frutto grosso (marrone), e le querce caducifoglie come il cerro e la farnia: la risalita di correnti calde o di esposizioni particolarmente assolate o la presenza di suoli mediterranei ricchi in ferro spesso propone la presenza della quercia sempreverde, il leccio, mentre rara è la presenza della sughera.
